Shelburne Fire Department

Shelburne has an "on-call" Fire Department and training meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

Our Fire Station underwent a substantial renovation which included a brand new meeting room, office, kitchenette, and two full restrooms.

In 2020, the Town replaced two of the older trucks which could no longer safely be in service. Below is a picture of the newest addition to the fleet, Engine 1:

Fire Permits

Anyone who wishes to burn clean, ordinary combustibles such as leaves, brush or untreated lumber, or to have a camp or cooking fire MUST have written permission from the landowner and a Fire Permit from the Forest Fire Warden or the Town Fire Department.  Please call the Town Office for more information on how to obtain a permit.

More details on what can and cannot be burned and more information can be found starting on page 130, in the rear of the Town Report.
