Shelburne Fire Department
Shelburne has an "on-call" Fire Department and training meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
Our Fire Station underwent a substantial renovation which included a brand new meeting room, office, kitchenette, and two full restrooms.
In 2020, the Town replaced two of the older trucks which could no longer safely be in service. Below is a picture of the newest addition to the fleet, Engine 1:

Fire Permits
Anyone who wishes to burn clean, ordinary combustibles such as leaves, brush or untreated lumber, or to have a camp or cooking fire MUST have written permission from the landowner and a Fire Permit from the Forest Fire Warden or the Town Fire Department. Permits expire on the last day of the year, and require reapplication each year.
Permits can be obtained on Tuesday evenings from 6 PM to 7 PM at the Fire Station. During May-September, they can be obtained at the White Birches Campground. The Shelburne Transfer Station also issues permits on Saturday mornings, 6 AM to 12 PM. There is no cost for an in-person permit. Burn permits can also be obtained online at www.nhfirepermit.com. NOTE: There IS a charge for online permits.
Please call the Town Office for more information.
More details on what can and cannot be burned and more information can be found starting on page 130, in the rear of the Town Report.
