Wildlife

In the past, Shelburne was known for it's abundance of bears and wolves. Reverend Benjamin Willey wrote back in 1856 that Shelburne was "very much infested with bears".  Though the bear are still plentiful, the wolves are now gone. If you're lucky, you may still catch a glimpse of a moose, bobcat or some of our healthy population of deer.
